Spark Math Confidence
I want children to believe that they are capable of doing math. Just as we encourage our kids that they are readers and writers, I want them to feel confident that they are a "math kid" too.
Author, storyteller, and believer that every kid can do math.
Hi, I'm Katherine! I am a former elementary teacher, a proud mom, and the author of Addie Alpaca Does Addition. I spent years in the classroom watching kids light up the moment math finally clicked for them.
I live with my husband, daughter, dog, and cat. When I'm not writing, you’ll probably find me at a coffee shop, in the middle of a craft project, or planning the next adventure!
Addie Alpaca Does Addition was inspired by my dad and The Algebra Cat, a book we wrote together when I was in second grade.
I want children to believe that they are capable of doing math. Just as we encourage our kids that they are readers and writers, I want them to feel confident that they are a "math kid" too.
My books and resources are designed to be learning tools for educators and families. Whether at school or at home, I want learning to focus on connection, not extra prep.
Reading together builds empathy and family bonds. For math, it builds confidence too. My read-aloud is designed for shared storytime that makes math feel magical and exciting, not full of pressure.
